The General Assembly holds its session in the presence of the Honorable Minister of Transport.
At the invitation of the company’s Supervisory Authority, the General Assembly of the General National Company for Maritime Transport was held this morning, Monday, September 8, 2025, at the company’s headquarters in Tripoli – Andalus District. The session was chaired by Mr. Mohamed Al-Shahoubi, Minister of Transport [Chairman of the General Assembly], with the presence of the esteemed members, foremost among them His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Al-Huweij, Minister of Economy and Trade, the Deputy Minister of Finance, the Chairman of the Development Fund Board, as well as the Director of the Legal Office at the Ministry of Transport, along with the Chairman and members of the company’s Steering Committee.
During its meeting, the General Assembly discussed a number of important items, most notably:
Reviewing the company’s activities for the year 2024 and the first half of 2025.
Reviewing the financial position and the final accounts for 2024.
The report of the company’s Supervisory Authority.
The company’s operational status and future plans for developing its activities.
The Assembly also discussed restructuring the Board of Directors and appointing a new CEO for the company, reflecting a commitment to continuing performance improvement and consolidating principles of sound governance.
The convening of the General Assembly comes as part of efforts to strengthen the company’s role in the maritime transport sector and to enhance its performance in line with the requirements of the upcoming phase.
